Phototaxis

Medium: Kiln brick, light, glass

Size: 14 x 12 x 46”

An LED light strip was wrapped around a wooden core, then encased with broken kiln bricks stacked to reveal the light through the broken edges. This piece is an exploration of a kiln embodied, but possibly more importantly an exploration of how humans are drawn to light, and how light temperature affects perceptions of physical temperature.
